I have
pleasure in attaching the finalised results of this year's
championship.
As usual I have checked over the score cards, restated the full-bore
scores out of 100 as in recent past years and corrected one stray V
bull from the provisional results announced on the range. This last
small change results in a change to the first place which becomes a
tie between Robbie Taylor and Alice Lang. As was done four years ago
this tie has been broken according to the NRA rule by using the score
at the longest range which was the full-bore rifle where Alice edged
ahead
of Robbie by one point. Alice, at her first time of entering, thus
becomes the overall winner and first lady winner as far back as my
recent records go. The team match was quite close with Perth outpacing
Tain for first place. Trophies for the clay target and air pistol stages
go to Graeme Band, counting out his Blairgowrie clubmate Alan Cumpsty,
and Robbie Taylor.
Scores were generally slightly lower but I am pleased to note that
the entry was slightly up on last year which halts a downward trend.
Once again I wish to record my thanks to Kevin Simpson of Blair Atholl
Gun Club, John McCoy and Jimmy Nicol of Blair Atholl Small-bore Rifle
Club and the many other individuals who helped set up and take down
targets and tents.
