We
picked a day of bad weather for the first work day of the
year, but still managed to do quite a bit . By lunchtime
it was obvious that if we did not leave then, some of us
would not get home that day. The snow gates on the A9 were
being closed as we left. Another work day will be needed
when we have a better chance of good weather.
Thanks to those who turned out: James Bell, Peter Burbridge, Iain Conacher,
Paul Crosbie, Hugh Inglis and son, John Macdonald, John Potter and
Stephen Thomson; also to Jeremy Gaywood, Adam MacPherson and Paul Sandie,
all of whom volunteered and set off from home but were beaten back
by blizzards on the way.
Photo's
below show some of the volunteers at work. In order not to
put anyone off their cornflakes for life, there is no photo
of WARC chairman up to his elbows in unmentionable material
in the toilet, which some morons had vandalised over the winter.
