Perth & Kinross Sports Council have an annual Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony, and among other awards for Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Sports Personality of the Year and the Junior equivalent, is a MERIT AWARD, which is sponsored by Perth Trophy Shop.

This award is made to someone who has shown the greatest degree of endeavour in their sport in at least the last year (or last half century!).

Alastair Munro was put forward on behalf of both West Atholl and BASBRC for his contribution over the past 50 odd years to Target Shooting and we are delighted to report that he won.

We finally managed to get Alastair presented with the P & K Sports Council Merit Award that he should have had last Spring!!!

Bob was brought up in Blair Atholl, was a friend of John’s and has known Alastair most of his life. He did shoot, at least smallbore, when younger, and has always been supportive of us!!
